We are hosting our annual Half-Year-End Club Tournament and Lunch on Sun July 6.
(Registration: Wed Jul 2)
We'll be hosting our 'fun' Club Tournament on Sun July 6, 2025.
Our club is much bigger now so we want to create Teams before the event.
If you wish to participate and/or join us for BarBQ....please complete registration below by Wed July 2.
The format is the same as the Year-End tournament and lunch held last year.
The club tournament is a fun tournament with teams made up of both non-bogu and bogu members. The less experienced non-bogu members will be administering the tournament (time keeping, score keeping, tasuki, etc.) and Sr Sensei will participate as Shinpan (referees). The tournament is designed to bring all members (non-bogu and bogu) together to participate in one event.
A select number of our current and more experienced non-bogu members will try wearing and competing with bogu. Non-bogu members wearing bogu must be experienced (for safety) and be prepared to wear bogu worn by others as spare bogu is limited.
This will also be the first bogu tournament for many of our new bogu members - we look forward to some exciting matches.
4 teams will be created and complete in a team match format until the winning team is determined.
SCHEDULE (DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUS YEARS):
9:00 -9:30am: Set up Courts and Tables for Tournament. Teach non-bogu members on how to administer a Tournament.
9:30am: Tournament Start
11:45am: Tournament Finish and Start of BarBQ Lunch
Members are invited to bring family members.
In the past, we held ‘pot-luck’ lunches (with members bringing dishes from home) but this year, the club has made arrangements to serve lunch for everyone. Members are invited to bring family members.
Historically, we have about 70 people. Please join us.
Registration Due Date: Wed Jul 2.
